ravenia#4 : 2 separated bathrooms

blogravdes1

In this design, i just tried to memorize my mother-in-law’s suggestion when she visited our house a few weeks ago.

The front room becomes living room.  Noted, eventhough i thought it’s kinda not too usefull since as the new comers in the neighborhood we would not have guest everyday. So, why should we spare special room for living room? but there’s advantage with sparing special room for guest for owner’s privacy :).

The family room becomes bigger since it doesn’t share with another room.

Bedroom room is next to the living room and it is shown on brown area. The previous bathroom is eliminated and regenerated to be 2 separated bathroom. 1 for public and another one for the master bedroom. Bathrooms are shown in grey color.

Bathroom is also as divider for kitchen and service area (dark brown area) on the back yard. There’s little space for little garden for bathroom and kitchen’s air circulation.

teak benches

Alohaa….

See you again. Sorry for not posting a long time. It’s finally because, i agree hubby’s design for room arrangement. While for details, I’m still insisting to take mine too.

Today, I attend a meeting from syariah bank near from my house for bill payment point promotion. After that, I have lunch on a little small resto named “Kedai 2 nyonya” next to that bank. I order Tengkleng. Frankly, i’m not so familiat with this ‘new’ menu, but since my brother-in-law want-to-taste-it-so-badly then I curious about it. And finally, I try it today. Not so bad.

while enjoying the tengkleng, I see the bench on this venue. I’m so interested with the benches. It’s so well-furnished and so simple. I think it’s nice for outdoor usage like in the my future garden.

Then I ask the owner of this resto :

Me : Mam, do you make it by custom or the seller’s already had this design?

owner : No, I dont make it customly, I just said that i wanted multi-function furniture and they gave me this design. And I love it. I can use it for study table for kids once it’s not used anymore. It’s came from Jepara, it’s made from real jati or teak, even it’s not the old teak which is more expensive. This set of table and bench can be bench itself, just fold then the  ‘table’ will be the back rest of the bench.

me : wow… how much for each pair, mam?

owner : it’s about some hundred US dollars and it’s included delivery fee.

me : hm… reasonable and reachable price.

owner : yeah, many people and furniture vendors asked about it also.

me : thanks for information. may i capture them up?

owner : sure, it’s my pleasure.

The owner is so friendly and smiling often. I love the idea of the bench. After paying the lunch bill, i went home.

When my brother in law wants tengkleng badly, now I want that bench badly!

have a nice bench day 😀

Laundry room

Aloha…

Okay, Lets talk about service area. In this case, I’ll talk about laundry room.

I’m visiting Houzz and search laundry room+small+wet.

Laundry room. yes, i want to know how to arrange the laundry stuff.

Small. sure, we have limited space, to do this activity.

Wet. It’s always on my mind that laundry activity will involve water, detergent and washing machine. So the room MUST have the wet area.

But, after searching the laundry room, most of them have 2 big machines which are washing & tumble dry machine. Also, the have little tiny wet area and it’s only a sink.

I don’t say it’s bad arrangement, but I think every home has it’s own arrangement depends on the user’s habit.

Above good picture example does not meet my requirement for my laundry room wanna be. Here are my laundry room requirement regarding my washing habit.

    1. As many variables are limited [electricity power, room space, budgeting], than we will only use 1 machine, which is automatic washing machine complete from wash-spin-dry.  Branded top loading machine is more affordable than the branded front loading one. The twintub washing machine is the cheapest than others, but for washing require more energy to move washed-soaped clothes from one tub to bucket to rinse and lose the the detergent. Then we have to remove them to them drying tub. Alot of energy and time spent :(.
    2. Since sometimes I’m not satisfied with the cleaness of the washing machine, therefore I have to separate the white, light color and the dark color cloth and then soak them grouply into a bucket of water+detergent. Then brush some part of the garment such as inner collar, collar, sleeve and front pocket on the sshirt. It requires large wet area instead of a sink for soaking. So large enough wet area with proper water supply is a must. Sometimes, I usually use the drain water for soaking the most dirty fabric/mop. It’s great to lose the oil on the fabric. Or sometimes I use drain water to mop the exterior floor like floor in terrace :).
    3. As the dried clothes out from washing machine are not totally dry, I have to hang it on a dryer. Then, if it’s indoor, i love to have the skylight roof so the sunshine can be in but it’s safe from suddenly rain.  At least, the room has air circulation through big window.

      love the idea of drying
